Today, the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) joined the Associated Pennsylvania Constructors (APC) to discuss substance use disorder (SUD) in the construction industry, highlight the importance of education and prevention for employees in this field, and to remind them of available safety resources. “Continuum of education,” is the best term to describe the recent signing of an articulation agreement between Lackawanna College and Susquehanna University. You could easily add to this term, words such as: Connection, Local, Opportunity, and Value. Articulation agreements are higher education ‘best practices.’ These agreements recognize that not every student begins and ends their academic career at the same institution. Additionally, your Chamber advocates for ‘career readiness’ and ‘lifelong learning’ throughout a person’s work journey (and even into retirement). Read more
