Kingdom Kidz Inc (11 E Third St, Watsontown) was awarded a 2022 grant from the Ralph and Josephine Smith Fund at the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania in the amount of $15,039.00 for renovations to the JULIE M HOLMES CREATIVE ARTS CENTER involving the installation of an HVAC system and an upgrade to the electrical system for this installation. The work was completed by The HVAC GUYS, LLC. (Mifflinburg) and SRS Electric, LLC. (Shamokin Dam) to make the CENTER a comfortable environment for audiences of all ages. Because of this grant the CENTER is now opened year round for puppet programs, FREE movies and other public events. The remainder of the cost for the renovation will be covered by a capital campaign and grants. Read more

It seemed as if every person in attendance just couldn’t help to smile, particularly the residents. Standing in the corner (see photo-that’s me in the back) of the majestic 2nd Floor Community Room at the Northumberland County’s newest senior housing complex, Mountainside Estates, during its grand opening ceremony last week, it occurred to me that the Greater Susquehanna Valley is truly a great place to live, work, shop and to grow old.
