Continuum of Education

“Continuum of education,” is the best term to describe the recent signing of an articulation agreement between Lackawanna College and Susquehanna University. You could easily add to this term, words such as: Connection, Local, Opportunity, and Value. Articulation agreements are higher education ‘best practices.’ These agreements recognize that not every student begins and ends their academic career at the same institution. Additionally, your Chamber advocates for ‘career readiness’ and ‘lifelong learning’ throughout a person’s work journey (and even into retirement).
In this photo, I’m discussing this idea of a continuum of learning, which is at the core of your Chamber’s workforce development strategy known as CareerBASICs. It’s this strategy that created the foundation for the work that we did the last few years to welcome and then helping to expand and promote Lackawanna College and its training offerings right here our valley. We’re glad that the Lackawanna Falcons are here, and we’re committed help them to become ‘Greater Susquehanna Valley grown.’
Dr. Jonathan Greene, President of Susquehanna University spoke at last week’s Articulation Agreement Signing Ceremony and mentioned how this agreement will usher expanded opportunities into our valley for future students and lifelong learners.
Phillip Campbell, Administrator of the Lackawanna College-Sunbury Center is a longtime Chamber member and active participant on your Chamber’s Business and Education Committee. During his remarks at the ceremony, he thanked the Chamber for its unwavering support for his ever-growing center.
If you’ve never visited the Sunbury Center of Lackawanna College, please stop by. It’s located in the Fourth Street Plaza, across the street from the YMCA. You will be impressed by their facilities and the learning opportunities offered there.
