The Union-Snyder Hunger Coalition will host a 5K race on Saturday, April 30, at 9 am at The Miller Center for Recreation and Wellness. The GIANT Company is the exclusive sponsor of the race with additional support from Kitch It To The Curb, who will offer healthy meal discounts to all runners, and All Star Bagels, who will provide race-day bagels and coffee. Registration is $20 for adults and $15 for students and 100% of the proceeds will benefit Union-Snyder Community Action Agency's Hunger Coalition. The start and finish line will be at The Miller Center for Recreation and Wellness, 120 Hardwood Drive, Lewisburg. Read more

Kathy Paul, RN, CHPN, has been named Director of Hospice at Evangelical Community Hospital. Hospice of Evangelical is a comprehensive program that assists patients and their families with the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs that may accompany a life-limiting illness. Paul’s leadership was effective on March 20, 2022. She replaces former Director, Kay Holdren, who retired after 38 years of service to Hospice of Evangelical. Read more

In this role, Taylor is primarily responsible for all operational functions of the orthopaedic service line. This includes oversight of the clinical, financial, and administrative operations of the SUN Orthopaedics clinics, including satellite locations, and how those clinics interact with orthopaedic services connected to Evangelical Community Hospital. The Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA has partnered with Bloomsburg Music Therapy to offer Singercise, a free, therapeutic class for people battling Parkinson’s disease. Singercise aims to improve speech intelligibility, increase vocal intensity, and improve respiration and swallowing, all while providing a source of social support in a fun and engaging setting.
