Last Friday, Art Thomas and I were joined by John Kerschner who is the Vice President of Fine Line Homes on the popular radio program On The Mark 1070AM. To hear our conversation related to the tight housing market and its impact on our Workforce Development Urgency, I encourage you to listen into this podcast. The show’s host, Mark Lawrence and his co-host Ben Reichley keep Art and me ‘on our A-game,’ with about two minutes to process this news before we go ‘On The Air.’ To stay ahead of this ‘fire hose of economic data,’ I draft a ‘What to Watch For…’ briefing each month. Passing it along, in hopes that it provides you with some sense of the ‘giants’ upon whose shoulders we stand here in the Greater Susquehanna Valley: Read more

Decades have passed in preparation for this day, but we did* it. (Well, ‘we did*’ at least two-thirds of it.) Yesterday marked the official opening of the Central Susquehanna Valley Thruway. The route will be fully opened to traffic next week. Truly a team effort which involved no less than five different Chamber Transportation Chairs and their deep connections and relationships with dozens of appointed and elected officials. Read more

Consider that in 2021, Main Street America programs generated $5.76 billion in local reinvestment, helped open 6,601 new businesses, generated 30,402 new jobs, catalyzed the rehabilitation of 10,595 historic buildings, and leveraged 1.5 million volunteer hours. On average, for every dollar that a Main Street program, such as Lewisburg, spent to support their operations, $19.34 of new investment was generated back into the community. Read more
