On April 6, as part of a comprehensive tour of their service footprint, PPL Electric Utilities President/CEO Steph Raymond (the first female CEO in PPL's history) shared with an audience of regional organizations and customers at the Barn at Frosty Valley about the work that PPL is doing right now to keep the power on and the energy flowing in the Greater Susquehanna Valley. In a presentation packed with information, President Raymond lauded the work of PPL employees in the Valley, touted the partnerships across the industry that allow for sharing of resources during storms, discussed how technology improvements in the grid have helped to pinpoint outages and potential outages faster than ever, and highlighted PPL's focus on cyber security, safety, and community engagement.
Raymond also shared about the work of the PPL Foundation and PPL employees to give back to communities during the pandemic and beyond, and talked about the improvements the company seeks to make the grid increasingly more reliable. Locally, Raymond highlighted projects on Route 235N in Snyder County benefiting 585 customers, the installation of a sectionalizing device in Shamokin Dam to help a busy intersection and a medical facility, projects in Milton and Augustaville benefiting 140 employees, and the relocation of formerly inaccessible lines along route 487 in Columbia and Montour Counties, benefiting 465 customers.
