You could have knocked me over with a feather eight years ago when your Chamber biennial survey of members came back with a resounding plea for accessible and faster internet services. Having spent decades advocating for physical infrastructure such as highways, roads, streets, sewer, and water services, the introduction of broadband and high-speed internet was ‘new territory’ for me and your Chamber leaders. The learning curve was steep, but together, we climbed it as quickly as we could.
Within that first year, I concluded that if a person had an easy (or low cost) solution to bridging the rural technology gap, they probably didn’t understand the extent of the problem. So, a few weeks ago, while reading this article which was very well researched and sourced in The Daily Item, it was clear our army of broadband advocates had learned, the hard way in some cases, what we here at your Chamber learned long ago.
Our broadband advocacy on your behalf now includes three prongs: Access, Affordability, and Compatibility. To this end, please take a minute to review this PennTeleData flyer. We are committed to continuing to work alongside our incumbent internet service providers and Chamber members, to make our clarion call of ‘Broadband for All’ a reality here in the Greater Susquehanna Valley.
