Lewisburg Nationally Recognized

As this blog post hits the website, a contingent of Lewisburg and valley wide community development folks are making a keynote presentation about what it takes to become an outdoor recreation and downtown destination to the attendees at this year’s Annual Pennsylvania Revitalization Conference.
Not only is Lewisburg Development Partnership (LDP) a community leader statewide, but they have recently been designated as an Accredited Main Street America program for meeting rigorous performance standards. Each year, Main Street America and its partners announce the list of Accredited programs to recognize their exceptional commitment to preservation-based economic development and community revitalization through the Main Street Approach™.

Consider that in 2021, Main Street America programs generated $5.76 billion in local reinvestment, helped open 6,601 new businesses, generated 30,402 new jobs, catalyzed the rehabilitation of 10,595 historic buildings, and leveraged 1.5 million volunteer hours.  On average, for every dollar that a Main Street program, such as Lewisburg, spent to support their operations, $19.34 of new investment was generated back into the community.
