Community Manager

Position: Community Manager
Reports To: Operations Manager (primary) Executive Director (secondary)
Hours: Full time (40 hours)
Primary Focus: Outreach from Covation Center to Community and prospective members, potential program partners, and funding partners
Hourly Rate $25/hr

About you:
You are a unicorn. You’re great with people. You’re organized. You have strong instincts for outreach and sales, and an equal ability to make folks feel comfortable and cared for. You are intrinsically self-motivated and overjoyed to work with folks who communicate well and often. You don’t miss the details, you’re always thinking strategy and big picture, and you love to be part of a powerful team that gets things DONE.
About the role:
This is the role for a person we’re not sure exists. Our Community manager manages growth and connections in our internal co-working community, and also spends time out in the community broadening The Covation Center’s footprint, identifying possible partnerships and funding sources, and also supporting some of our offerings on the back end. If you have worked with a small business where a small team puts on many hats, and have thrived rather than shrinking, this may be the role for you.
Here’s some of what you’ll do:
Conduct a brief intentional check-in with each active member at least once per month, so that you maintain a working knowledge of every active member's business, goals, current priorities, and challenges
Connect members with others in the Covation Center ecosystem who may be able to partner, assist, or grow through the introduction
Give tours that are compelling and personalized–every interaction is an opportunity to talk about how Covation fits the visitor's specific situation
Follow up and track your outreach
Using existing systems and infrastructure (spreadsheets, clickup, slack) to track inquiries and progress and report to the team on a monthly basis
Support event planning and execution (minimal)
Support educational events (minimal)
Attend key external events including Chamber of Commerce meetings, Williamsport Business Association gatherings, and other relevant local business community events
Attend external events with a specific goal, not just presence — identify potential members, deepen partner relationships, or gather intelligence on what the local business community needs
Using existing systems and infrastructure (spreadsheets, clickup, slack) track and document each new contact, follow up promptly, and report to team monthly.
Maintain and update a running list of community contacts, potential members, and referral sources
Represent Covation's mission and programs accurately and compellingly in all external conversations
You Bring:
Superlative communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong self-motivation
Enough tech savvy to learn Airtable, Clickup, communication in Go High Level, and Slack.
The ability to learn and understand complex, diverse information
An ethos of self-improvement/enrichment
A heart for service and community
The ability to bring suggestions to leadership for improvement of processes/systems
Tireless follow-up both with our team internally and with potential partners externally
Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience
Extras We’d Love:
A bent toward gathering images and short videos that capture impact in the community or reflect the work we do
Able to identify strategic opportunities (beyond existing memberships)
A background in Community Building or Coworking spaces
Event planning experience
A background in B2B sales or business development
Existing knowledge of Coworking and Small Business Development
