The YMCA is seeking a strategic and hands-on Human Resources Director to lead HR across multiple
branches serving 350–400 employees. This role partners with senior leadership to drive workforce
strategy, compliance, employee engagement, and organizational development while fostering a mission aligned, inclusive culture

Responsibilities

• Lead HR strategy, policies, and workforce planning to support organizational goals.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and talent management to attract and retain top talent.
• Administer compensation, benefits, payroll, and performance management programs.
• Ensure compliance with federal and Pennsylvania labor laws, including child protection
requirements.
• Serve as a confidential resource for employee relations, conflict resolution, and organizational
culture initiatives.
• Lead training, professional development, succession planning, and safety programs.
• Manage HR systems and process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  •  5+ years HR leadership experience; nonprofit/multi-site experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or equivalent certification a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Pennsylvania employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office.
