The GSVCC News Updates
A Snip and We're Open
Decades have passed in preparation for this day, but we did* it. (Well, ‘we did*’ at least two-thirds of it.) Yesterday marked the official opening of the Central Susquehanna Valley Thruway. The route will be fully opened to traffic next week. Truly a team effort which involved no less than five different Chamber Transportation Chairs and their deep connections and relationships with dozens of appointed and elected officials.

Lewisburg Nationally Recognized
Consider that in 2021, Main Street America programs generated $5.76 billion in local reinvestment, helped open 6,601 new businesses, generated 30,402 new jobs, catalyzed the rehabilitation of 10,595 historic buildings, and leveraged 1.5 million volunteer hours. On average, for every dollar that a Main Street program, such as Lewisburg, spent to support their operations, $19.34 of new investment was generated back into the community.

The ribbon was cut on the newly minted LPN Career Center. During my quick tour of this center, I was highly impressed with the pedagogical care and thought, as well as the impressive faculty, that went into the design and operation of this facility located at 14 Lawton Lane, Milton.
