Knowledge and Skills:

Experience:
|
Three to five years of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, property maintenance, or a related field, including responsibility for building systems, preventive maintenance, vendor coordination, and general repair activities.
|

Education:
|
A high school education or GED.
|
|
|
Interpersonal Skills:
|
Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

|
Other Skills:
|
- A valid state driver's license is required.

Requires the ability to work a schedule with flexible hours, including nights and weekend hours as deemed necessary by management.

General maintenance experience is desired including technical skills, working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, reading and interpreting blueprints and site plans.

Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary to effectively deal with members, vendors, management, and other credit union personnel.

Must be able to operate a personal computer and possess a functional knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook software.

Strong planning, analytical, problem solving, organizational and project management skills are required.

Physical Requirements:

The following physical activities are routine requirements of this position:

CLIMBING: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.

BALANCING: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces. This factor is important if the amount and kind of balancing the amount and kind of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.

STOOPING: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.

REACHING: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

STANDING: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.

WALKING: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.

PUSHING: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.

PULLING: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.

LIFTING: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.

FINGERING: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling.

EXERTION: May require exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

VISUAL ACUITY: Individual is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.

Position is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.

State of Pennsylvania residency required.

Due to the nature of this role within a financial institution, candidates must be bondable in accordance with the Credit Union’s bonding requirements and successfully complete all pre-employment requirements, including a background check and drug screening.
