Position Summary:
The Commercial Construction Lead Carpenter/Foreman oversees and performs skilled carpentry work on commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for leading a team of carpenters and laborers, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate daily activities of the carpentry crew on commercial construction sites.

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project layout and work methods.

Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures including walls, doors, frames, windows, drywall, ceilings, cabinetry, and other wood or metal components.

Ensure all work meets company quality standards and complies with building codes and safety regulations.

Collaborate with superintendents, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure smooth project execution.

Plan, measure, cut, assemble, and install materials with precision and efficiency.

Train, mentor, and evaluate carpenters and laborers; delegate tasks effectively.

Maintain inventory of tools and materials, ensuring proper use and storage.

Identify and resolve job site issues to prevent delays and rework.

Enforce safety procedures and promote a clean, organized job site.

Track daily progress and report updates to the project manager or superintendent.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a carpentry apprenticeship preferred.

Minimum 5 years of commercial carpentry experience, including 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role.

Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and standards.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.

Proficient in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment.

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical labor for extended periods.

Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, scaffolds, and in varying weather conditions.
Work Environment:
