From One Gavel to the Next: A Peaceful Transfer of Leadership
Every four years our nation gathers to witness the peaceful transfer of presidential power. While the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce may not have marching bands, fireworks, or even a parade down marching down Main Street. What we do have is something just as meaningful, our own peaceful transfer of leadership.
At our March 27th 104 th Annual Meeting, members will witness a moment that reflects both tradition and momentum for the future of our Chamber.
As the meeting begins, longtime President & CEO Bob Garrett will take the podium and preside over the proceedings. For one more time, Bob will guide our Chamber family through a delicious luncheon served by the Pine Barn staff that will focus on celebration and recognition. The program will feature the presentation of several awards honoring the remarkable individuals, businesses, and organizations that help make the Greater Susquehanna Valley such a vibrant place to live, work, and do business.
Then comes the moment that symbolizes both continuity and new beginnings.
As we close out the meeting, our rising leader, Amanda Craig Bradley, will step forward and gavel the 104th Annual Meeting to a recess for another year. With this simple action, she will officially mark the transition to a new chapter in Chamber leadership.
It may not have the pomp and circumstance of a Presidential Inauguration or even the ceremonial caps and gowns of a high school graduation. But for those who care about the future of our region’s business community and prosperity it is a meaningful and historic moment.
Your Chamber’s work, supporting local employers, strengthening our workforce, and advocating for a prosperous regional economy continues uninterrupted. Leadership may pass from one set of hands to another, but the mission remains the same.
You will not want to miss this special Annual Meeting. Seating is limited. Please register today at gsvcc.org.
By working together, our best days lie just ahead.
