Top O’ The Morning
Here’s a St. Patrick’s Day riddle for you:
Today and the Bucknell Small Business Development Center have this in common. What is it? Here is a hint: What color of clothes are you wearing today? Sin é, you’ve got it…Green.
Okay, that was fun. But seriously, please join me in offering a heart-felt hoorah to our friends at the Bucknell Small Business Development Center (SBDC, for short) who today are celebrating #SBDCDay. This is a nation-wide event which creates a collective proclamation of the impact that SBDCs, such as ours at Bucknell University, have on the eventual success for America’s dreamers, innovators, and doers.
You may be surprised to learn that across our nation there are nearly 1,000 SBDC university-based centers. These centers serve literally hundreds of thousands of clients who connect, in real time, with advisors, kindred entrepreneurs and start-up businesses to share success stories, best practices, and the potential pitfalls that small businesses face every day, pandemic or not.
So, today we toast Amber, Denny, Ian, Maureen, Shelley, and their inspired leader, Steve for bringing in the green and the prosperity that follows for dreamers and ‘get-it-doners’ throughout the Greater Susquehanna Valley. To learn more about today’s celebration and the great work of the SBDC, please use the hashtag #SBDCDay, drop a note to sbdc@bucknell.edu or call 570-577-1249.
