SUSQUEHANNA RIVER VALLEY VISITORS BUREAU IS HOSTING BACKYARD TOURISM WEEK, MAY 1-5, 2023

With the summer tourism season fast approaching, the Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau will once again host their annual Backyard Tourism Week at their Lewisburg Visitor Center to celebrate the region’s tourism amenities and encourage residents to become backyard tourism ambassadors.

Residents are encouraged to stop by the Bureau’s Visitors Center in Lewisburg, Monday, May 1 through Friday, May 5, 9am to 5pm, to discover the wide variety of things to do in the Susquehanna River Valley’s tri-county region [Snyder, Northumberland and Union Counties]. 

Guests to the week-long open house, can plan their summer fun by coming to the Visitor Center to explore the large variety of brochures, events, maps, and daytrip suggestions that include bird-watching, boating, hiking, camping, zoos and wild animals, golf, museums, historic walking trails, restaurants, spring concerts, music-in-the-parks, festivals, state parks and attractions, antique trails, heritage trails, area wine trails, kid-friendly attractions, PA maps, plus information on destinations throughout Pennsylvania. 

Guests can also sign up to win one of over 60 prizes that members of the Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau have donated, that include coupons, free admission tickets, gift-baskets, overnight stays plus much more.

Themed event days during Backyard Tourism Week include May 3rd for Whoopie Pie Wednesday, May 4th for Thirsty Thursday from 4-6pm, and Friday May 5th for free hot dogs from 11am to 2pm.
