This in-person Roundtable will cover federal regulations impacting small businesses. Business owners will learn about the process used by federal agencies to issue, change, or repeal rules. This event will allow small business owners to communicate directly with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of Advocacy about how regulations impact them, and provide them with tools to participate in the rule-making process.

Topics will range from labor safety regulations, environmental regulations, and Americans with Disabilities Act regulations. Small businesses in manufacturing, environmental, and general service sectors are especially encouraged to attend, but it is open to all interested and is intended to educate and to facilitate a discussion about issues impacting small businesses.

Attendees will gain an understanding of:

  1. Key small business regulations currently under consideration
  2. How the regulatory process works and why small businesses should participate.
  3. The role of the US. SBA Office of Advocacy as the voice of small businesses in the government

Roundtable Facilitator: Ngozi Bell serves as a Regional Advocate in the U.S. SBA Office of Advocacy, and has over 25 years of experience in business development and innovation for high-growth technology organizations.

About the SBA Office of Advocacy: Created by Congress in 1976, the Office of Advocacy of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is an independent voice for small business within the federal government. We understand that small businesses would rather be focused on the operations of their businesses and do not typically have the resources or time to be up to date on every regulation in the Federal Register; the Office of Advocacy is committed to supporting a conducive environment for small businesses to thrive.
