Throwing caution to the wind, right after an exhilarating Walk with a Doc, which took our band of happy wanderers through the flora and fauna of the Montour Preserve, I decided to inaugurate the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce 2022 Member Directory & Business Resource Guide by showing it to the most discriminating audience I could think of, the top communications managers at the Geisinger.
As you can clearly see from the expressions on their faces in the photo below, our directory was warmly received and immediately shared with others. Geisinger’s Senior Community Engagement Strategist, Stephanie Derk, pictured to the right, gave the 2022 Directory a huge endorsement by calling over her colleagues at the Walk with a Doc on Saturday morning with a “Hey guys, check this out!”
Now comes the task of getting the thousands of copies of the directories widely distributed so that hundreds, possibly tens of thousands more people can learn more about you, your organization and check out every one of your fellow Chamber members.
We’ve gone with a smaller, booklet size for this year’s directory. Based on the advice of our partners at the Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau, this new format will facilitate, even encourage, the broad distribution of the Member Directory.
Every Chamber member will soon receive a copy for their use. Hopefully, this will facilitate enhanced business-to-business activity and inspire more member-to-member deals. Chamber members who request additional copies will have their requests fulfilled.
Both the Susquehanna River Valley and the Columbia-Montour Visitor Bureaus have fantastic brochure distribution services, which we will actively tapped into. New faculty members and other professionals will have a directory placed in their hands to help them get to know their new hometowns better, as part of your Chamber’s talent concierge program.
I would be remiss if I didn’t thank The Daily Item for their diligence, professionalism, and talent in publishing this year’s Directory. In particular, I would like to recognize the good work of Lori Seebold and Bob Kutz for working at our side to take our newly-formatted directory from quirky concept to beautiful, information-packed, glossy finished product.
