Publications Go Quarterly

In a move that’s partially credited to ‘not just new normal—but better normal,’ and partially credited to the reduced number of Chamber staff, our two main regularly printed and published member news reports, Local Gems, Regional Riches, and The Voice of the Valley, are now being made available on a quarterly basis.

Local Gems, as we call it around the Chamber, is a combination newsletter and events calendar, published by The Standard-Journal, which carries information gathered by the members of our Community Prosperity Alliance. Each Alliance community is invited to submit an article. Most submissions include updates as well as invitations to events coming up in the calendar quarter.
Andrew Miller, of the Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau, always provides an upbeat assessment of the travel industry in our valley. In this edition he describes ‘Backyard Tourism Week,’ and gets every reader ready for the feast to come; particularly Whoopie Pie Wednesday.

The Voice of the Valley is your Chamber’s ‘workhorse’ publication. This member and regional business newsletter is the long-time good work of The Daily Item. With its new-and-approved quarterly format, the Voice of the Valley now has 12 pages and more color, plus space for additional ads. The centerfold will always be dedicated to downtown news and event invitations.

As an acknowledgement to former Daily Item publisher and tireless Chamber supporter, Jan Tippet, each edition will have a page dedicated to our Athena-Women’s Leadership Committee. Leadership Susquehanna Valley always fills a page with program updates and tips that range from clear communications to personal effectiveness to time management.
Both of these publications are available on Chamber website (gsvcc.org), on the newspaper websites (dailyitem.com and standard-journal.com), and also by clicking on the icons below:
