The Lackawanna College-Sunbury campus’s Transfer Student Open House is to be held from 5:00-7:00 pm on January 7th and 9th. It is an event designed to help students who are interested in transferring to a local, hometown campus. This open house provides an opportunity for prospective transfer students to learn about the college’s programs, financial aid options, and the transfer process.
Prospective transfer students, as well as students looking to re-start their post-secondary education, can engage on these evenings directly with admissions staff, faculty, and advisors. This offers them a personalized, hands-on experience to understand how their academic credits can be transferred and how their prior coursework fits into Lackawanna College’s offerings.
Attendees those evenings may explore various academic programs available at the Sunbury campus, located nearby at 145 N 4th St, Sunbury, PA 17801, including those in health sciences, business, and criminal justice. Attendees can also receive guidance on the application process, ensuring a smooth transition.
Your Chamber has partnered with Phil Campbell and the Lackawanna faculty and staff since their grand opening a few years ago. Bob Garrett, Chamber President and CEO said, “These two evenings are ideal way for students to connect with others who are making a similar transition, creating a sense of community and support. Post-secondary education isn’t always linear where you simply walk onto campus a freshman, and viola, four years later you’re mature, professional with a bunch of academic degrees.”
Concluding, Garrett said, “Lackawanna is showing students and their families that their continuum of education and support for their chosen careers exists right here in the Greater Susquehanna Valley. Additionally, financial aid counselors will be available to discuss scholarship opportunities, grants, and other funding options making these evenings a win-win for all.”
Overall, the Transfer Student Open House at Lackawanna College-Sunbury is a valuable resource for students looking to continue their education in a welcoming and supportive environment. It gives them the tools they need to make informed, value-driven decisions about their academic future without having to travel long distances.
