So, with this assessment in mind, weather-wise March can only steadily improve and then eventually depart in about 30 days with us enjoying meek, mild, warm and fuzzy lamb-like weather. We’ll see how my prediction pans out—but, that’s what I’m hoping for.
Your Chamber’s Governmental Affairs Committee members gathered for their twice-monthly meeting Friday. The heavy lifting during the meeting was the adoption of 2019-2020 Legislative Agenda. With just a few minor tweaks and some re-positioning of a couple items so that they fit into their categories better, our Legislative Agenda is ready for prime time.
Keep an eye out for this statement of our legislative and public policy priorities to be posted here on the Chamber website. All in all, the 2019-2020 GSVCC Legislative Agenda aligns well with our strategic plan’s “Four Imperatives.”
For example, in support of our “Cost of Doing Business Imperative,” we list the following legislative priorities:
- Responsible State Spending and Budgeting
- Penn Valley Airport
- Highway, Safety, Regulation and Hours of Service
Workforce
- Quality Education Opportunities
- Addressing Addiction Issues
- Modern, Safe, Efficient and Reliable Infrastructure Systems
- Local-Police Access to Radar
- Community Development
- Conservation, Flooding and Quality of the Susquehanna River
