On Thursday, September 7th at 7:00 PM in Deg Theatre, Claudia Williamson and Carson Reeling will have a discussion/debate around the topic “How Much Should We Regulate the Economy to Fix the Environment?”. The discussion will be moderated by Mark Lawrence and will be at the Degenstein Campus Center Theatre on the Susquehanna University Campus and is free and open to the public.

Scholars differ on what regulations – if any – should be implemented to improve the environment along with the effectiveness of those regulations. In this discussion/debate, we have scholars with different views on the role government should play in regulating the economy to improve the environment. The goal is twofold. First and foremost, we will learn more about this important issue. The second goal is to model how people with different views on a contentious issue can engage in a civil discussion.
