Having Fun at WellSpan-Evangelical Ribbon Cutting
Knowing where you’ve come from is important. History is serious business. It can also be a lot of fun.
Question: How many CEOs did it take to snip one ribbon? Answer: Three.
Pictured here Chamber President and CEO Bob Garrett instructs Senior Vice President-North Region/President WellSpan-Evangelical, Kendra Aucker along with Board Chair of WellSpan- Evangelical Tim Apple on how to safely, with decorum and distinction, safely snip the ceremonial ribbon.
This festive occasion, held on last week, served as the dedication of the WellSpan-Evangelical’s “Wall of History.” This interactive display is ready to greet you, whether you be a patient or a visitor in the hospital’s impressive foyer.
Even though our beloved and venerable Evangelical Community Hospital now has a new name, “WellSpan-Evangelical” it’s humble beginning and the history of this grand lifesaving institution is being well preserved. It’s been said that “without knowing it’s history any institution is bound for failure.” Keeping this quote in mind, WellSpan-Evangelical’s best days clearly lie just ahead.
In addition to this historical display, as seen behind Kendra and Tim in these photos, several active and retired medical doctors have donated implements of their practice. Once archived, these artifacts will be in public view in a display case-style museum, also located in the hospital.
Thank you WellSpan-Evangelical for being the Greater Susquehanna Valley's birthplace and trusted center of healing.
