Giving Thanks...to Needy Students

A message was received this week from Rebecca Brominski, who is the Executive Director, Luzerne County Community College Foundation, that may be of interest to you:

The Peter J. Lello Student Food Bank and the LCCC Foundation are partnering with the Askam United Methodist Church once again this year to provide Thanksgiving meal baskets for our students and their families this holiday season.

For a donation of $50.00 you can adopt-a-(student)-Trailblazer family and provide a Thanksgiving meal for 4 people. Each basket will include a turkey and all the items needed for a wonderful Thanksgiving meal. Our goal is to provide at least fifty baskets.

Please consider participating in this worthy initiative.

Gifts can be made online by using the link below, on or before November 14th at:
Online giving form link for the LCCC Foundation or you can send your check to the Foundation Office. Checks should be made payable to the LCCC Foundation, 521 Trailblazer Drive, Nanticoke, PA 18634.

For more information, please contact us at 570-740-0735.

Thank you in advance for your continued support!

As you may know, your Chamber has worked for many years to bring all-important, affordable post-secondary education in the form of Community College education and training to our valley. The Shamokin Campus of LCCC is entering its 22nd year, and the Watsontown Campus (known as the Greater Susquehanna Center) now in its third year, and both are continuing to grow filling our workforce gaps.

Many Community College students are juggling full time jobs while raising young families. Your donation to this program would show these scholars how much we appreciate their commitment to the future viability of our valley’s labor force. Thank you for anything that you’re able to do in support of this worthy giving of thanks.
