The Continuum Grows and Strengthens

The continuum of excellence in education across the Greater Susquehanna Valley continues to grow stronger with the exciting announcement from Ancora Education, a national leader in workforce training and solutions. This fall, Ancora’s Berks Technical Institute (BTI) campus in Lewisburg will expand its skilled trades offerings by launching new programs in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, & Basic Refrigeration (HVAC/BR) and Electrical. The first classes begin in just over a month, on October 13th

This expansion represents another important step in building the Valley’s workforce pipeline. Already, Bill Metzger, Jr. owner of CVC Mechanical Contractors has offered his hardy ‘hooray’ when he heard this news.

The HVAC/BR program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in this in-demand and short-staffed field. Through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on training, students will learn to service a wide range of real-world equipment.

The program is recognized by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), ensuring the highest standards in curriculum and instruction. Students enrolled in the HVAC/BR program will have the opportunity to earn up to five nationally recognized credentials from NCCER during their course of study. In addition, graduates will be well-prepared to sit for the EPA Section 608 Technician certification, a critical credential for anyone working with refrigerants.

By offering programs that meet both employer demand and student career aspirations, BTI-Lewisburg is further strengthening the region’s continuum of excellence in education. From quality childcare to fine primary and secondary education through technical training and higher education, the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce is committed to preparing local citizens for successful, family-sustaining careers right here in our backyard.

This is more than just another program launch—it is another milestone in ensuring that our Valley remains a place where education, business, and community thrive together.

By working together, our best days lie just ahead.
