Major Women’s Leadership Event Kicks off 2026

A powerful and timely Women’s Leadership event is heading to the Greater Susquehanna Valley, offering inspiration, insight, and recognition to leaders across our region. On Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Chamber’s Women’s Leadership Committee will host a virtual conversation with Dr. Lise Vesterlund, an internationally renowned economist and co-author of The No Club. Her groundbreaking research has reshaped national conversations about workplace equity by exposing the hidden burden of “non-promotable tasks”—the unrecognized assignments that frequently fall on women and often limit advancement.

Dr. Vesterlund’s presentation will illuminate how these often routine, but unrewarded responsibilities affect organizations and employees alike, most importantly, how leaders can work together to foster fairer, more inclusive environments. Participants will gain practical tools and strategies to bring back to their workplaces, making this one of the most anticipated leadership programs of the year.

Adding to the excitement, the event will feature the live announcement of the 2025 ATHENA Award recipient, presented by Eric Rowe, a prior recipient of this distinguished honor. The ATHENA Award celebrates individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, community service, and support for the professional advancement of women. This year’s announcement is sure to be a highlight as the Chamber recognizes an outstanding leader whose example strengthens our entire region.

This signature program is proudly presented by the Women’s Leadership Committee of the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce, continuing its mission to elevate leadership, support professional growth, and empower women throughout the Valley.
