“The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. A true leader is the one who gets the people to do the greatest things.”
-Ronald Reagan
Caution: Great things straight ahead.
Highlighting this week's Chamber Board of Directors & Officers meeting was a report from the 2024 Nominations Committee. The committee members, consisting of Art Thomas, Chair; Sue Green; John Uehling; and Amiee Buehner, ex officio; placed into nomination Jeff Reber for Board Chair serving the 2025-2026 term, along with Greg Zeh, Vice Chair for the same term.
Jeff and Greg are well-known community leaders in our valley, with plenty of personal business experience and success. Jeff serves as a Union County Commissioner as well as an adjunct faculty in Business at Susquehanna University. He is a graduate of the very first LSV Class back in 1995. He and his family live outside of Mifflinburg.
Greg is a Weis Markets Vice President and served two terms as our Chamber Treasurer. Greg’s firm grasp of your Chamber’s financial affairs is impressive. His fellow Board members say that his monthly Treasurer's Reports are something forward to each time they meet. Greg and his family reside in East Buffalo Township.
With this nomination, as per your Chamber’s By-Laws, for a period of ten days, nominations from the general membership are open. The ‘from-the-floor’ nominations process is quite prescriptive and anyone who wants to know more about it is invited to contact Bob Garrett. On or about December 5th, if no nominations are received from the membership, Jeff and Greg will be elected to their positions by acclamation.
Please note that we will be returning to our traditional Monthly Membership Meeting starting on December 13th. At this meeting the names of any Board nominees will be announced.
Congratulations to Jeff and Greg. We're looking forward to great things as we know that thanks to your leadership our best days lie just ahead.
