“What Can We Expect in the Upcoming Election?”
This Friday, October 4th at 11:00 AM, in Susquehanna University’s Downtown Center, your Chamber of Commerce is hosting Dr. Nick Clark, for our next-in-a-series Capital Conversation. For those who thrive on heated and polarizing political debate, name calling, and angry partisan outbursts this won't be your type of conversation.
However, if you tend to lean-in with the desire to be a high-information voter, equipped with lots of data-driven, evidence-based, reliable knowledge, this Friday’s Governmental Affairs meeting will be an hour well invested and a conversation that you won't want to miss. The Downtown Center is located at 111 North Market Street in Selinsgrove.
Registration is not required, but make sure to arrive early to get a good seat. Dr. Clark’s presentation will combine his research with some classic lecture blended in throughout. There will with ample opportunities for questions, and who knows maybe even a little debate. Expect to be enlightened and informed without the jarring schisms that too often characterize our modern political discourse.
Writing about the Chamber’s Capital Conversations, Governmental Affairs Committee Chair, Malcolm Derk penned, “These conversations will focus on topics related to public policy. From time-to-time, a bit of education and training will also be part of these conversations. Robust and sustained conversation needs to be built on facts and evidence, with just a pinch of opinion thrown in to keep it fresh. Presenters and speakers with national, state, and local expertise and perspectives will serve as the catalysts and the conversation starters.”
For the remainder of this year, Capital Conversations will occur on either the first or the third Friday of each month, beginning at 11:00 am, in the Susquehanna University Downtown Center, located at 111 N. Market Street, Selinsgrove, PA 17870. Wrap will be at or near the Noon hour. You’re invited to stay downtown Selinsgrove for a wonderful local lunch where the conversations can continue to flow.
