Malcolm Derk started is presentation of the 2024 Heritage recognition by explaining that the award recognizes the outstanding legacy of commitment and leadership of an individual within the Chamber for his or her dedication to the growth and prosperity of the Valley.
With such an introduction, the only person to be surprised when his name was announced was the awardee himself, Dr. John Kurelja. Once you know John’s background, you’re certain that the Heritage Award criteria make him a perfect honoree.
