Free Fridays are made possible by UPMC and UPMC Health Plan. Learn, imagine, and play as you explore healthy habits and practices through play-based experiences. Plus! Enjoy special STEM and other hands-on activities facilitated by UPMC and UPMC Health Plan staff. The Museum is recommended for children 2-10 years old and their families. Countdown to Kindergarten
Monday, June 5-Friday, June 9⋅9:00 – 10:00am
Get ready for Kindergarten! During this week-long camp, children will explore STEAM-based activities. Students will build school readiness and confidence prior to entering Kindergarten in the fall. This camp is recommended for children entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2023. To foster independence, this program is a drop-off program, but caregivers may remain on-site in a designated waiting area. Camp curriculum and activities to be facilitated by local educators. ASL for Toddlers
Wednesdays, June 7-28⋅9:30 – 10:00am
Help your toddler communicate, increase bonding and connection, and open your child’s heart and mind during this special toddler and caregiver American Sign Language class. Learn basic signs to aid in communication and play. Caregivers will actively participate and learn the signs with their child. Activities will include structured play, pictures, music, and games. Recommended for children 2-5 years old and their caregivers. A second session will be available. World Oceans Day
Thursday, June 8⋅10:30am – 12:30pm
Celebrate World Oceans Day at the Museum! The ocean is a wonderful biome—full of interesting plants, animals, and unique natural wonders. Families can enjoy learning about ocean currents, try a STEM challenge, and create ocean coral by air painting. Program is recommended for children 4 and up and is included with general admission or membership.
 
Pop-in to Plant
Saturday, June 10⋅10:30am – 12:30pm
Check out Pop-into-Plant outside and then come inside to make your very own seed bomb to take home! Create plantable wildflower seed shapes using recycled paper, then take them home and watch flowers grow! Wildflowers are great pollinators for our honey bee friends! Drop in on Saturdays between the hours of 10:30am - 12:30pm for some hands on ex-STREAM fun!  Each week we'll explore a different STREAM theme- Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, or Math- where you can participate in an activity, experiment, or craft at the museum.  This program is free with general admission or membership and recommended for ages 4 and up. Sponsored by the Bucknell University Community Engagement Fund.
 
ASL for Families
Fridays, June 9-30⋅2:00 – 2:45pm
Fun for the whole family!  Children and parents can partner up to enjoy learning the basics of American Sign Language together in this 4 week program.  Topics to be covered will include:  the alphabet, colors, animals, places, jobs, introductory conversational signs, etc. Cost is $36 per family. LCM Members receive a 10% discount. Use coupon code, "ASL4families" to receive your discount. A second session will be available. Sensory Friendly Family Night
Friday, June 9⋅4:00 – 7:00pm
Join us for Sensory Friendly Family Nights (on 2nd Fridays of the month), a special Museum event for children with autism spectrum or sensory processing disorders. The Museum will limit capacity, turn down sounds and lights, and provide adaptive equipment to offer a safe and fun experience for all! These programs are sponsored by the Greater Susquehanna Valley United Way and are free for participants. This event is recommended for all ages and registration is required. Kid Olympics
Sunday, June 11⋅2:00 – 4:00pm
Celebrate the end of the school year and the beginning of summer at the Lewisburg Children’s Museum’s Kid Olympics sponsored Evangelical Community Hospital and Geisinger with in-kind support from SB Cyclery, Stack’d Fit, Lewisburg McDonald’s, Lewisburg Sweet Frog, and DJ Donnie Mapes. Kids can participate in various physical activities (such as: javelin throw, obstacle course, limbo, and 20-40 meter dash) to compete for the gold! PLUS! Our friends from SB Cyclery will be on hand to do a bike helmet safety check and will raffle off 10 brand new bikes. Additionally, the Dunkin Donuts Community Cruiser will be on-site to fulfill all mom and dad’s iced coffee needs. Registration fee is $10 per child. All proceeds support the LCM. Registration will close at Saturday, June 10 at 12 pm and not be available the day of the event. Engineering Emporium

Explore possible future careers in STEM. "Engineering Emporium" is a summer education program that aims to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers by providing opportunities for children to think scientifically, practice authentic science techniques, and have fun! Each day, participants will learn that everyone can engineer as they solve problems using everyday objects. This camp is sponsored by Meixell Diehl Insurance. Once Upon a STEM
Monday, June 19-Friday, June 23⋅9:00 – 10:00am
Read, act out, and experiment with some classic fairy tales. Each day will explore a new STEM concept or skill through the lens of a classic story and hands-on challenge. How can we help Goldilocks find balance? Why was the brick house the strongest? Is there another way Rapunzel could escape from her tower? Amazing Science

“How did you do that?" Each day, campers will explore hands-on science activities and experiments that fuel their sense of wonder and excitement for STEM topics. From Newtons' Laws to mysterious polymers, each day will leave campers with something to share at the dinner table. Toddler Time

Ex-STREAM Saturdays
