To gain a better understanding of health needs across the communities we serve, Evangelical Community Hospital and its CHNA collaborators, Geisinger and Allied Services, are undertaking a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA).
The CHNA is a comprehensive health assessment that identifies key health needs through a systematic comprehensive data collection and analysis that expands a hospital’s focus to include health issues that impact the greater community. Additionally, the CHNA creates new ways for advocates, community organizations, and others to interact with hospitals. The FY2024-2026 CHNA will build upon our prior studies and will continue to guide Evangelical’s community benefit and community health improvement efforts.
An integral part of the CHNA process is community engagement. As we begin our CHNA research, we seek your input and participation in the CHNA research. Among opportunities for participation, we invite you to complete a Key Stakeholder Survey to provide your thoughts and individual comments on a wide variety of health and social factors that impact the health of our communities. Data collected from this survey will be used to determine priority health needs across the communities we serve and develop collaborative action planning to advance health and well-being for our residents.

The survey will be available until April 24, 2023. Please take 10-15 minutes to participate at your earliest convenience. We encourage you to share the link with your staff, colleagues, and other key community stakeholders who can provide insights on community health needs.
Our CHNA research partner, Community Research Consulting (CRC) will administer the survey and compile the results. Your survey responses will be kept confidential by CRC.
To learn more about our community health efforts and the CHNA, contact Sheila Packer, Manager of Evangelical Community Health and Wellness, at sheila.packer@evanhospital.com.
Through the CHNA, Evangelical and its collaborators will identify needs within the communities, direct our resources toward meeting those needs, and encourage a collaborative approach toward community health improvement.
Thank you in advance for your thoughtful insights and giving your time to help make our community healthier.
