Events: We are looking ahead to 2023. Shifting the holiday party from December to January to avoid conflicts with so many events at the end of the year we will celebrate the new year on January 11th from 4-7PM at the GSV Chamber office. 2023 will have some usual events like the Economic Forecast, Annual Meeting and Women’s Leadership Symposium. There will be some new events to bring together business and community like the Community Prosperity Lunch & Learn series and Women’s Leadership Lunch & Learn series. Both occur quarterly providing informational sessions and opportunities for networking. Be sure to check out the website at gsvcc.org for all upcoming events.

Young Professionals: Did you miss the Jingle Mingle at Eclipse Brewing in Sunbury? You missed a PARTY! Not only did Meck-Tech and Diversified Construction have the best door prizes around, but there was holiday trivia AND a delightful holiday themed dessert spread by Sara’s Sweeties. We’re not bragging about it being the best party in town, but that is exactly what it was. Don’t miss out on what we have in store for 2023.

Communications & Technology: The Innovation Summit held on December 8th at SUN-Tech left us with a lot to think about. What is Innovation? How does innovation impact our business? Do we allow innovation to occur at all levels and in all phases of our business? As we look to 2023 we are going to work with the Business and Education Committee to better understand the ways we can innovate to improve workforce issues. Be sure to subscribe to the weekly e-lert and follow us on social media for more information.

Women’s Leadership: We took a deep breath, a break and then started planning 2023. Our first event is in the 2nd week of January. We listened to the survey results and have the first in a series of virtual lunch and learns planned for January 12th from noon-1. You can register for all 3 parts of the series for $30, but if you also register early for the Symposium in October you can get a discount on all 4 events at $130.  Let’s gather.

Community Prosperity: December is a busy month for our downtowns. Everyone is in the holiday spirit, holiday lights along the streets make it seem like the most magical place. As we celebrated all of the holidays we expressed our thanks for a great year and looked ahead to another. Shopping small and supporting small businesses is not just something for the holiday season. Expect a lot of reasons to venture downtown in 2023.
