Danville & Lewisburg-Two Top 25 Towns

  • Share:
The good work of the Danville Business Alliance and the Lewisburg Downtown Partnership has been recognized by the Pennsylvania Downtown Center. The Downtown Center’s statement reads: “We are honored to recognize 25 Pennsylvania downtowns that have been named ‘Nationally Accredited Programs’ by the National Main Street Center (NMSC) for 2022.”

This is a prominent recognition and shows that Danville and Lewisburg along with two dozen other community programs in our state are dedicated to creating change in their community and leading as an example for other programs in the revitalization process.

These accredited Main Street programs are evaluated annually by the PA Downtown Center staff. The selected programs are being acknowledged for their determination in meeting Main Street principles. This rigorous evaluation includes ten performance standards required by NMSC including training, planning methods, and community involvement.

You might like to know that Danville’s and Lewisburg’s ‘peer downtowns’ include Ardmore, on the Main Line outside of Philadelphia; Carisle, Gettysburg, Hanover, Mount Joy, and Lititz in southcentral PA; and Mt. Lebanon, just outside of Pittsburgh.

Now that the weather has cooled off a bit, why not venture over to Danville and Lewisburg to congratulate your favorite merchant or restauranteur for their dedication to continued growth, impact, and prosperity?
