Across our valley’s radio waves the first Friday of each month is known as Financial Friday-On The Mark. That’s the day when Art Thomas, in his role as Chamber Chairman of the Board and Bob Garrett, pull up a seat in front of the microphone to do their level best at explaining the breaking economic news of the day. These explanations focus on the monthly unemployment rate update.
Typically, another guest is also brought on the air to bat around topics ranging from workforce development, to inflation, to the general state of the union. This month our guest was Elizabeth Bolden who is the President/CEO of the Pennsylvania Commission for Community Colleges. Her organization is our state’s foremost advocate for the 15 community colleges which are scattered around the commonwealth.
