CONNECTING OLDER ADULTS TO THE OUTDOORS: AN AWARENESS EVENT

This event will highlight the physical and mental health benefits of outdoor connections for older adults, educate around issues related to social isolation, and demonstrate opportunities to bring nature to the underserved and get older adults outside.
 
Staff and residents of nearby long-term care and senior living facilities as well as older adults living in the community are invited to attend.

  • David Saunders, Office of Health Equity Director
  • Kendra Auker, CEO Evangelical Community Hospital

Attendees will have the opportunity to experience nature and the outdoors through various activities, including:
  • Walking along the trail
  • Riding along the trail on trishaws
  • Hands-on nature activities
  • Virtual reality demonstrations
