Airport Open House

  • Share:
The Penn Valley Regional Airport will hold its annual open house on Saturday, June 3 beginning at 9 AM. Please take a look at the attached flier.

There will be a number of activities and displays including a Geisinger Life Flight helicopter, a state police helicopter, and a commercial helicopter that will be offering rides for a small fee. There will be multiple food trucks, a fire truck, and an ambulance that are favorites with children. Military recruiters from several service branches will be present, and rides in a full-motion general aviation simulator are available for a nominal charge. There will also be several professional pilots who fly for the airlines on the grounds to answer questions about the "pilot life."

Susquehanna STEM to the Skies will be present to talk about aviation-based STEM curricula that are available at no charge to high schools, home schools, and career technical centers.

Please distribute this information as widely as possible to anyone interested in attending. Last year, hundreds of people attended, and those who came said it was a great family activity. It is an excellent venue for both younger and older children as well as students with an interest in airplanes and all things related to aviation. Adults interested in learning to fly will also enjoy their visit.
