3 Ways to Celebrate National Small Business Week
This week, your Chamber and Bucknell's SBDC is joining up with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Pennsylvania's Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) to mark National Small Business Week. Together, these organizations recognize the critical contributions of entrepreneurs and small business owners, who work every day to create 21st Century jobs, drive innovation, increase America’s global competitiveness and employ many of our neighbors. Here are three quick suggestions on how you might be part of this week’s celebrations of all things Small Business.
#3-Register today to participate in one of Bucknell SBDC’s upcoming training events. These low-cost classes tend to run about an hour or two and they provide critical information for start-up as well as well-established small businesses. To learn more about all the upcoming classes and to register, please visit bucknell.edu/sbdc.
#2-Check-out a small business each day this week. Make your outings even more interesting by stopping by a small business where you’ve never shopped, eaten, had a drink or visited before.
#1-Did you know that your Chamber of Commerce awards a Small Business of the Year at its annual gathering of members? At the “98th Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony” to be held in Susquehanna University’s Degenstein Center on May 20th, we will be recognizing a fabulous local small business. Please register for the Annual Meeting today at gsvcc.org.
