Adopt an Acre Program
Event Description:
Join the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee as we 'grow' together with a program from our past - the GSVCC Adopt-an-Acre Program.
An education program of the Chamber's Agriculture Committee, the goal of the Adopt-an-Acre program is to educate the community about the means by which local agriculture is produced. This year, you are invited to be one of 35 shareholders who together will "Adopt-an-Acre", of corn. When you purchase your share, valued at $20, you will receive a shareholder's certificate that will represent your investment. A local crop farmer, "Farmer Brown", will set aside one acre for these shareholders in which he will track expenses and forecast profits. While no one will "get rich" from the program, we expect that we'll learn quite a bit about just how far $20.00 goes in local ag!
Sign up now through March 31, 2020 to purchase your share. Receive email updates as to the progress of our farmer, and attend Chamber meetings throughout the year to learn more face-to-face from our Agriculture Committee! A final shareholder report will take place at the October Agriculture Luncheon!
